Recently I decided to try my hand at digital art. So I downloaded a app called Sketch Club and picked up a stylus and started to draw. I must say I LOVED IT. The stylus and tablet were like a pencil and paper. This is definitely a medium I will be exploring more. The control you have over the mark making is amazing. The drawing I did is of my old gal Peggy taking a couch nap.

The keys to your story
I finished the large piece I started yesterday. An iron ring with a set of old skeleton keys hanging off it, so rusty and so elegant. I love the contrast of finding beauty in decay. This piece is 24 x 36″ and titled “the keys to your story”. I also started another piece today almost a perfect mate for this one. A old door knob. Maybe a key will fit.
A Sunday in the studio
I spent the entire day in the studio today. It felt great. I completed 6 small studies and a larger work that is 99% completed as well. Tomorrow I get to do the same all day. So fantastic. I mostly worked on flowers and food today, two of my favourite subject matters and playing with the background colour. The larger piece that I will reveal tomorrow isn’t a living subject matter, it’s inorganic… watch for the post.
